But Really, That’s Exactly What Happened

The day after Peter and the Starcatcher came to a close, I packed my bags (and my grandma’s car) in one night and left at 5am to fly away on a plane. Bless the weather and functioning aircrafts because there wasn’t a single delay! That was a huge relief because the minute I walked off the plane I called an uber, rode it straight to Santa Clara University, lugged my bags into Unity Commons, dropped them at my feet, I was greeted with a binder, and I went straight into a 3-hour meeting for LEAD. What a great and chill “welcome back” right? It sure elevated my heart rate!

The Perfect Getaway:

It’s three weeks before finals week, and this is when the stress of final projects and tests begin to pick up. Saturday and Sunday I was truly at home with my mom, grandma, Uncle Andy, Aunt Bridget, and my cousins Connor and Dylan. I didn’t realize how much my little self-needed to go home to Fremont. The pace was slow, the question as to whether someone was going to come into the room at any minute was thrown out the window, and family love, support, and care was filling the space. I’m so glad I got quality time with my family and a deep breath before my home stretch to finals!

It was Eh.

I suppose, compared to other weeks, you could call my week four of spring quarter “eh.” Nothing exceptionally extraordinary happened during the week. I will say that I did enjoy our sunshine and doing homework outside. Okay, maybe there was more tanning and laying in the sun more than anything. But either way, it was a productive week of catching up on work, hanging out on the green grass (because apparently, we’re not in a drought anymore?), eating good food, and rehearsing for Measure for Measure.

I Adulted Today!

No really, I did. I managed to coordinate, in about 48 hours, how to get housing for next year, how to play the system, figure out new roommates, find the room we want, find a plan B, C, D, E, F, and G just in case. And because I took initiative for myself, I managed to get Emma Smith and Silvana as AMAZING roommates for next year in the best dorm on campus, Graham, AND get the cheapest living plan on campus! I would say that I deserved a pat on the back, so I decided to eat a whole tub of ice cream that night.

Party Number One:

It was after-party number two, just to be confusing. This Saturday night I was invited to the NAK Formal, a formal for a fraternity. I had no idea what to expect, and I was thoroughly blown away. It knocked my socks off which is pretty impressive because I wasn’t wearing any. The food was absolutely delicious, and so were the five different kinds of cake. The NAK pledges roasted their big brothers, danced for us, and we had the best DJ I’ve ever danced to. Talk about a fun night to feel all dolled up with some great friends.
