But Really, That’s Exactly What Happened

The day after Peter and the Starcatcher came to a close, I packed my bags (and my grandma’s car) in one night and left at 5am to fly away on a plane. Bless the weather and functioning aircrafts because there wasn’t a single delay! That was a huge relief because the minute I walked off the plane I called an uber, rode it straight to Santa Clara University, lugged my bags into Unity Commons, dropped them at my feet, I was greeted with a binder, and I went straight into a 3-hour meeting for LEAD. What a great and chill “welcome back” right? It sure elevated my heart rate!

Operation Deer Part II:

Update! A week or so ago, Marie and I completed Operation Deer and gave Aldo a deer mask. Yes, the inside joke is a long story. Well a few days ago Marie and I looked through his office window and couldn’t find the mask! Did he throw it away? Did he hide it? We were sure to find out. So we walked into his office and Aldo scared us by hiding behind the door because he just wanted to hear us squeal, and then uncovered the hilarious truth. He is currently using our deer mask as a coat and hat rack. The mask is happily mounted in the wall, and the antlers are hard at work!

Staff Meetings.

I had my first one for the LEAD program next year! To refresh the memory, I will be a LEAD Seminar Peer Educator next year with the LEAD First Generation program on campus. I am surrounded by the most diverse, sincere, and supportive group of people I know. Only being one step under the head of LEAD, Erin, is going to be amazing and I wouldn’t want anyone else in charge. I am so blessed and honored to be a part of the family during my time here as a student, and already one year later have the highest honor of giving back to younger LEAD scholars.
